About Allison
Allison Spitz-Perry began her law career in 1984, earning a B.A. in political science from Syracuse University. She received her J.D. from St. John’s Law School in 1987 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1988. Since then, Attorney Spitz-Perry has specialized in immigration law, providing high-level, personalized, and responsive representation for both corporations and individuals.
In 1991, Allison founded Perry & Spitz-Perry, focusing on humanizing the often daunting immigration process. With over 30 years of experience, she has represented clients at US Embassies and Consulates worldwide, as well as USCIS offices nationwide. Her expertise spans naturalization, permanent resident, and non-immigrant visas, and she works with a diverse clientele including families, individuals, corporations, and art and business professionals.
Allison’s legal process begins with assessing each client’s situation to determine available options and the best immigration strategy. She then assists her clients with gathering the necessary information and documentation, preparing and filing the required paperwork, and preparing and representing clients at interviews. Ensuring a smooth and productive process, clients work directly with Allison as she guides them through the immigration process from start to finish.
Beyond her professional work, Allison is deeply committed to helping the local community. This past May, she co-founded the SAJ/CRS Pro Se Legal Clinic, in partnership with two synagogues, the Society for Advancement of Judaism (SAJ) and Congregation Rodeph Sholom (CRS). The clinic provides free assistance to eligible individuals as they undergo the process of obtaining work authorization. In addition to her work in immigration law, Allison has extensive experience working with issues unique to the LGBTQIA+ community. Allison is a proud AILA member and dedicated sponsor of the Chelsea Challenge, a New York LGBTQ-friendly hockey tournament.
Attorney Allison Spitz-Perry lives and works in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where she is joined by her dog, Norma, and her cat, Lebowski.
